Suggestion
A traffic circle at Copper and Martin would best calm traffic as it accelerates up the hill westbound on Copper toward Martin from Campbell. A speedbump between Campbell and Martin would encourage reacceleration after the bump as traffic climbs the hill to Martin. The traffic circle will do more to actually calm traffic.
Suggestion
Hello,
I live on the southeast corner of Flower Street and Goyette Ave in the San Carlos Neighborhood. News of this proposed path came to me via the president of our neighborhood association.
I have some concerns regarding this path especially the section pertaining to the intersection of Flower Street and Goyette Ave. There is a 4-way stop at this intersection that is routinely ignored. I have almost been hit several times. Furthermore, Goyette Ave is often used as "drag strip" with cars constantly speeding north and south. The proposed path is nothing more than an open ticket to injury and possible death unless there can be some speed control on Goyette Ave. I have been told that this is not possible due to the large drainage pipes that run beneath Goyette Ave and that adding speed humps/bumps will increase the risk of these pipes being damaged. Well, I think the city should come up with some way of speed control or find another route.
Furthermore, the change in laws that govern cyclists (i.e. they no longer need to heed laws pertaining to motorized vehicles) increases the likelihood of accidents if cyclists are not made to observe 4-way stops. I have had near misses when driving down Pima Street when I have stopped and then proceeded through the intersection only to have a cyclist approaching the intersection and high speed. The cyclist pays no mind to the stop sign, nor the fact that I have entered the intersection, and attempts to cycle thru the intersection expecting my 2.5 ton vehicle to stop. I'm sorry, but this change in bike laws is utter madness and cyclists need to obey 4-way stops!
If you wish to move forth with this bike path without speed abatement and amending the laws to make sure cyclists stop at intersections like the one at Flower Street and Goyette Ave, the "blood" is on the city's hands!
Suggestion
Riding along countryclub seems dismal. Maybe route through the school somehow to cross countryclub directly. The school has a circumference path.
Question
Could you add a speed hump if the push stop option is not available to traffic on Tucson blvd that is approaching the bike crossing area?
Suggestion
Please add a stop signal for Tucson blvd traffic similar to what is on Campbell. The blinking light is not effective currently and we definitely need the painted outline. But, better to have a car stopping option to yield to crossing bikes please.
Suggestion

Great to see these cross lights being added to the larger street such as Campbell and first Avenue I find as a ride my bike around town. Crossing larger streets, like this is often iffy and feels dangerous. Thank you for any and all improvements!!!
Suggestion
I am 100% for the bike boulevard program and would love to see it on Copper, however I have concerns about safety for bicyclists and pedestrians. The section of Copper between Wilson and Campbell is in serious need of an upgrade to be considered a safe bike boulevard. There are no curbs (or sidewalks) to define the roadway and the paved area is only 20 feet (or less) wide in multiple places. Because the road is not clearly defined, people often park on the pavement making the width even less. The edge of the pavement is constantly breaking down because of vehicles, mostly trash trucks but also delivery vehicles, creating pot holes that could be a hazard to bikes, especially at night.
Suggestion
Always appreciative of any bike enhancement to our city especially Copper. As a daily user of Copper & Tucson, I would love to see a Push Button crossing here.
Question
What if the current crossing was used instead of a new HAWK?
Suggestion
This might be a better HAWK location than the one shown on the map currently.
Suggestion
The proposed location of a HAWK on Swan, to cross at about South San Carlos Place, may need a traffic study. My experience is that the traffic southbound on Swan backs up well north of South San Carlos for several hours a day, especially morning and afternoon. The issue seems to be the volume of traffic needing to turn left on Grant combined with the traffic southbound on Grant already. This is all aggravated by shoppers turning in Fry's at the northern entrance despite a no-left-turn sign and island. A HAWK at that location seems likely to compound the problem. It might work better further north on Swan, perhaps at the Bermuda entrance to San Carlos. That would seem to give more separation between the existing congestion and the HAWK.
